Rare .925 sterling silver dresser pot with repousse lid. Signed and marked with silver content, it was made by William Comyns between 1900 and 1940.
Lid is a pierced repoussé style featuring cherubs and flowers. It has a scalloped, rope edge around top. Center of lid is engraved with initials “JWD”.
Marked on both lid and body with the British Lion typical of 1913, the “S” designation for London and the uncrowned head/face used from 1822 to present. The Comyns WC hallmark is at the beginning of group. Has “A280” stamped into bottom.
Beautiful, classy and in outstanding condition with complete top (no repairs or breaks). Base is complete with two dents on outside bottom edge (see pics). There are no breaks in base.
Is uncleaned and unpolished.
